PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress occurrence of blooming by applying a bias voltage to a shutter gate built in a read sensor so as to set a barrier caused by the shutter gate lower than a barrier by a read gate, thereby discharging excess charges stored in a photodiode to a shutter drain. SOLUTION: A shutter gate 12 receives a bias voltage 23 that is set by a D/A converter 5 instructed by a micro program 4 and sets its own potential. An A/D converter 2 converts analog data of a read output 21 into digital data, a program 4 incorporated in a controller 3 is used to check a bias voltage 23 having been set by the D/A converter 5 for its propriety. A read output 21 outputted in response to an exposure time regulated by the shutter gate 12 is transferred to the A/D converter 2. The A/D converter 2 converts the read output 21 into a digital signal and transfers it to the controller 3.
