PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To treat waste liquid containing at least one of organic halogen compounds with a small-scale treatment equipment, and therefore to reduce workload for treating the waste liquid containing at least one of the organic halogen compounds and to make it easy to treat the waste liquid. SOLUTION: This trap 4 for organic halogen compounds treats organic halogen compounds while waste liquid containing at least one of organic halogen compounds is passed through the trap and is filled with a halogen adsorbent 5 for the selective mineralization of halogen elements X in molecules of the organic halogen compounds and adsorbing/retaining the mineralized halogen elements. In a treatment channel for the waste liquid containing at least one of organic halogen compounds, the trap 4 for organic halogen compounds is placed so as for the waste liquid to pass through the halogen adsorbent 5.
