PURPOSE: A method for controlling multiple access of a mobile communication system, is provided to obtain optimum performance in respective load by variably applying access control process according to load to random access channels. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling multiple access of a mobile communication system, comprises the steps of: dividing random access channels into an N number slot; obtaining number of times for successful data receiving and collision by monitoring the random access channels with a network, and calculating present input load from the obtained number of times; deciding an access control mode having optimum performance according to the calculated input load, to inform to a corresponding region through a broadcasting channel; deciding slots of a group to which respective mobile terminals themselves can access among an N number slot, by using one among peculiar numbers, optional allocating numbers of allocated access class and a present access control mode informed through a broadcasting channel; and selecting an optional slot among the decided slots, to transmit data.
