The trolley comprises a frame mounted on pivoting castor mechanisms (3a) provided at one end of the trolley either side its longitudinal axis. Each mechanism comprises a castor pivoting braking means (16). This braking means leaves the castor free to pivot in one direction and to lock pivoting in other directions. The locking directions are opposite for the two end castors. The locking mechanism comprises a finger (17) provided with a ramp (24) extending into a U-shaped indentation (19) of an inverted dish (14).
