PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately and quickly carry out the quantitative analysis of an organic nitrogen-containing compounding ingredient in a thermoplastic resin masterbatch without conducting a pretreatment such as extraction by determining the nitrogen concentration in the masterbatch and calculating the concentration of the ingredient by a specific equation. SOLUTION: The nitrogen concentration (A wt.%) in a thermoplastic resin masterbatch is obtained preferably by completely burning a sample and determining the nitrogen content in the combustion gas by an oxidative-decomposition chemiluminescence method or a column separation method. The concentration (X wt.%) of the organic nitrogen-containing compounding ingredient is calculated by the equation: X=A/B×100 [wherein B is the nitrogen concentration (wt.%) in the organic nitrogen-containing compounding ingredient]. When the masterbatch contains two or more organic nitrogen-containing compounding ingredients, a masterbatch containing one nitrogen-containing ingredient (A1) is prepared first, and the content of A1 is analyzed; and a masterbatch containing another nitrogen-containing ingredient (A2) is prepared by using the above-mentioned masterbatch as the material, the nitrogen content of this masterbatch is determined, and the content of A1 is deducted to give the content of A2.
