PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate type heat exchanger constituted of less number of plates than that of a prior art and having a high heat transfer coefficient. SOLUTION: The plate type heat exchanger comprises a plurality of metal plates 8, a plurality of corrugated plates 6, two outer plates 7 and the like. The plate 8 is made of copper, nickel, aluminum or their metal alloys, and the plates 8 are disposed in parallel. The plate 6 is made of copper or a copper alloy, and disposed between the plates 8. An interval of the plates 8 is 6 mm or above, and optionally 8 mm or above.
