PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber module with improved shock resistance characteristics. SOLUTION: The shock-resistant optical fiber is produced by housing an optical fiber in a first module case 3, housing the first module case 3 in a second module case 13 and fully filling the space between the outer wall of the first module case 3 and the inner wall of the second module case 13 with a synthetic resin 15 to form a shock buffer layer 15a. The Young's modulus of the synthetic resin 15 is <=1 kg/mm2, and the shock buffer layer 15a is formed to >=0.2 mm thickness.
