PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent wasteful operation in an absent condition from being continued, by providing an antipersonnel sensor which detects the action of a human body and an optical sensor which detects ambient illuminance, and by controlling operating modes on the basis of the outputs of these sensors. SOLUTION: An antipersonnel sensor 31 is installed at the central part on the substrate of a sensor in a casing. An LED indicators 32 to 35 are installed at its both sides, and an optical sensor 36 which detects the illuminance (brightness and darkness) at a predetermined angle of the front is mounted at the left end. The antipersonnel sensor 31 detects presence and absence by human movement or the action of a human body, and it comprises a Fresnel lens F and a pyroelectric element (infrared rays or the like). The Fresnel lens F is disposed obliquely downward and forward to the vertical direction of an utilization side unit A to detect human beings efficiently. An air conditioner is put into a normal operating mode by the outputs of presence by the antipersonnel sensor 31 and the bright condition by the optical sensor. It is put into such a mode to be stopped by the outputs of absence and the bright condition, so that wasteful operation in an absent condition is prevented. |
