PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To objectively evaluate color reproducibility (printing quality) of printed matter in a printing quality evaluating method and an apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: The colorimetric patch 5 provided on printed matter 6, which subjected to lap-printing by adding at least one monochromatic color corresponding to either one of lap-printing colors different from a plurality of fundamental colors and expressed by the lap-printing of a plurality of the fundamental colors to a plurality of the fundamental colors, in relation to a plurality of the fundamental colors, the lap-printing colors and the added color, a spectrometer 1 for measuring the spectral reflectivity of the colorimetric patch 5, a tone control device 2 operating a color coordinates value from the spectral reflectivity, and a display device 4 displaying a reference color coordinates value constituted by containing the color coordinates value related to the lap-printing colors among color coordinates value and a color coordinates value to be evaluated constituted by replacing the color coordinates value related to the lap-printing colors among the color coordinates value constituting the reference color coordinates value with the color coordinates value related to the added color corresponding thereon on color coordinates in a comparable manner. |
