PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid-crystal panel inspection apparatus allowing visual inspection of liquid-crystal panels without using a backlight consisting of surface light emitting elements. SOLUTION: This liquid-crystal panel inspection apparatus 1 has a light projector 13 as a backlight source for illuminating a liquid-crystal panel 12 to be inspected from its back. Light L emitted from the light projector 13 is reflected by a reflector 14 and illuminates from the back the liquid-crystal panel 12 installed on the panel stage 11 of an inspection station. By widening the range illuminated by the light projector 13, liquid-crystal panels of different sizes can be inspected easily, and since even large liquid-crystal panels for inspection can also be illuminated with sufficient brightness, visual inspection is ensured.
