PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combinatorial measuring/counting method and apparatus capable of enhancing measuring accuracy and operating factor. SOLUTION: This apparatus is provided with a plurality of measuring heads WH, each having a measuring hopper 10 in which articles are dropped and a transfer feeder 7 which transfers the articles toward the measuring hopper, and also with a dispersion feeder 3 which dispersively feeds the articles to the plurality of transfer feeders 7. Combinatorial computations of the weight values or numbers of articles in the measuring hoppers 10 are made and a combination of the measuring hoppers 10 which corresponds to weight or number within a permissible range is selected, so that the articles are unloaded from the measuring hoppers 10 selected. In the event of an insufficient head operation in which the number of measuring heads of the combination selected is not greater than a predetermined number, operation of the dispersion feeder 3 is paused.
