PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure distance to a target on the earth's surface by emitting an electronic wave with a different wavelength from a missile. SOLUTION: An electronic wave with a different wavelength is emitted from each of first and second SARs 26 and 28 to a target on the earth's surface for obtaining the phase and the reception gate time of the electronic wave reaching the target, the phase, the reception gate time, the speed, the wavelength, and the slant range resolution of the electronic wave reaching the target are used by a device 24 to calculate the distance to each target, the difference between both distances, the distance difference in the direction of altitude and that in horizontal direction between the two SARs are used by the device 24 to calculate an angle for looking down the target from the first SAR 26, and the angle, the altitude of the first SAR, and the distance between the first SAR and the target are used by the device 24 to measure the altitude of the target on the earth's surface.
