PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently amplify a gene by hybridizing plural pairs of probes having plural mutually complementary parts in a way that they cross in alternation by forming a double stranded polymer. SOLUTION: This method for amplifying a gene comprises forming a double stranded polymer by specifically carrying out hybridization so as to cross in alternation by using plural pairs of probes in which mutually complementary portions are composed of three or more sites. The pair of probes comprises two DNA probes, DNA probe and RNA probe or two RNA probes, two PNA probes, PNA probe and DNA probe or PNA probe and RNA probe, etc. The pairs of probes are structured such that complementary portions at three or more sites of the respective probes are each hybridized during one-to one hybridization to form a double-stranded polymer. Thereby, a gene is efficiently amplified for direct detection of target gene, detection, etc., of antigen and antibody. |
