PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to find out a process for producing a polymer- modified asphalt for the production of which the storage of several components in a warehouse suffices and to satisfy the requirements for the qualities of a polymer-modified asphalt and of a polymer-modified bitumen as well. SOLUTION: The production process comprises the steps of: (a) mixing bitumen with one or more polymers and, optionally, additives at a temperature higher than any of the softening points of the bitumen and of the polymers and (b) mixing the mixture obtained in step (a) with mineral aggregates in an asphalt mixer. In this process, step (a) is performed in such manner that this step is directly contiguous to the asphalt mixer.
