PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a safe pharmaeutical composition simply ingestible while taking a daily meal and useful for improving lipid metabolism without any adverse effects by including a chicken extract as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: This pharmaceutical composition for improving lipid metabolism is obtained by including a chicken extract as an active ingredient. In the prepared chicken extract powder, the active ingredient such as 1.5-10.5 wt.% of anserine or 0.8-7.2 wt.% of carnosin is contained. The amount of the chicken extract formulated in the composition is 20-2,000 mg expressed in terms of the chicken extract powder for administration at a time. When the composition is administered as a composition containing the chicken extract powder, the dose is preferably 1-20 tablets/day preferably administered after a meal or between the meals if the total amount based on one tablet is 100-300 mg, 1-10 tablets/day preferably administered after the meal or between the meals if the total amount based on one tablet is 400-600 mg and 1-5 tablets/day preferably administered after the meal or between the meals if the total amount based on one tablet is 700-900 mg. |
