PURPOSE: An apparatus for extracting Korean caption is provided to embody a Korean caption broadcasting on a personal computer at a low price without buying an expensive Korean caption broadcasting receiver. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for extracting Korean caption comprises a broadcasting signal selecting element(10), a broadcasting signal processing element(11), a storing element(13), a caption converting element(14) and a displaying element(15). The broadcasting signal selecting element selects a predetermined television broadcasting signal. The broadcasting signal processing element divides the selected broadcasting signal into image and caption by digital conversion and decoding. The storing element stores the signal-processed caption data. The caption converting element extracts Korea caption data from the storing element, and stores and executes a program for converting the extracted data to a readable format. The displaying element displays Korean caption of the caption converting element in a type that simultaneous watching is possible, according to the signal-processed image.
