PURPOSE: An apparatus for cooling a condenser of an air conditioner is provided to remove a water distributer so that the energy loss due to the driving of the water distributer and noise are removed and the loss of air flow is minimized. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for cooling a condenser of an air conditioner, in which an evaporator is installed in an indoor unit and a condenser is installed in an outdoor unit, includes a cooling water collecting element mounted below the condenser for collecting cooling water generated in the evaporator, and a cooling water absorption element attached to heat radiating pins of the condenser for sucking the cooling water collected in the cooling water collecting element, wherein the cooling water collecting element includes a receiver mounted below the evaporator for receiving cooling water dropping from the evaporator, a guide part for guiding the cooling water from the receiving part to the outdoor unit, and a storing part positioned below the condenser for collecting the cooling water introduced via the guide part, and the cooling water absorption element is formed of a porous material for absorbing the cooling water due to a capillary tube phenomenon, of which lower end part is immersed in the cooling water collected in the cooling water collecting element. |
