PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject stabilizer capable of inhibiting the dehydrochlorination reaction in chlorine-contg. resins even in small amounts by including a specific aminophenyl compound. SOLUTION: This stabilizer is obtained by including an N-acyl-N-(2- hydroxyalkyl)aminophenyl of the formula [R1 is a (substituted) >=6C phenyl, phenylene, or the like; R2 and R3 are each H, an alkyl, halogen, or the like; R4 is H, methyl or phenyl; n is 1-4], [e.g. N-benzoyl-N-(2-hydroxyethyl)aniline]; wherein the compound of the formula is prepared, for example, by acylating an N-(2-hydroxyalkyl)aminophenyl such as 2-anilinoethanol with a carboxylic acid halide such as benzoyl chloride. The other objective chlorine-contg. resin composition which is obtained by incorporating the above stabilizer in a chlorine-contg. resin such as vinyl chloride resin is useful in molding for pipes, joints, corrugated plastic sheets, etc.
