<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized, highly integrated, and high-speed optoelectronic integrated circuit device. SOLUTION: On a silicon substrate 1, a plurality of circuit blocks A1, A2,..., B1, B2,... are formed in a monolithic way to constitute this device. In the plurality of circuit blocks, the signal transmissions between at least two circuit blocks are performed by lights. The circuit blocks wherebetween the signal transmission are performed by lights have light emitting elements and/or light receiving elements. The internal signal transmissions in each circuit block are performed through such wirings as Al and Cu. The region between the adjacent circuit blocks to each other is formed out of vacuum, air, or optically transparent substances. In the region between the circuit blocks, optical switches may be formed allowably. The circuit blocks may be connected allowably by a linear optical transmission line formed on the silicon substrate 1 in a monolithic way, and in the course of this optical transmission line or between it and the circuit block, optical switches may be formed allowably.</p> |
