PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a purifying apparatus for waste water (grease trap) containing a substance having characteristics floating in an upper layer of water such as oils and fats or the like. SOLUTION: A main body container 1 is arranged in the vicinity of the surface of the water of a grease trap or the like to take in water in the vicinity of the surface of the water from a raw water inflow part 4 and air is discharged into the container from the air diffusion pipe 2 of an aeration part 5. The microbiological preparation changed in the main body container 1 decomposes oils and fats or the like under the aerobic environment or stirring in the aeration part 5 to purify waste water. A barrier plate 8 interrupts the convection and stirring effect caused by the aeration of the aeration part 5 in a treated water separation part 6 to separate a floatable substance such as oils and fats or the like and treated water. Air bubbles discharged from a discharge part air diffusion port 9 rise through a drain pipe 10 while involve the treated water 12 in the lower part of the treated water separation part 6 to discharge the same out of the main body container 1.
