PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper money processor capable of in particular reducing the width of a horizontal direction. SOLUTION: A paper money carrying direction of a paper money depositing/ withdrawing unit 23 is set only in an upper-lower direction, in a back-forth direction and in the combination of both, and the width of the horizontal direction of the paper money depositing/withdrawing unit 23 thereby is reduced. In addition, the bundles of paper money are contained in the individual paper money bundle storage houses of a paper money bundle containing unit 25 with the longitudinal direction thereof set along the upper-lower direction and the thickness direction thereof set along the back-forth direction, these paper money bundle storage houses are arranged in the upper-lower direction, and thus the width of the horizontal direction of a paper money bundle containing unit 26 is reduced. Then, the paper money bundle containing unit 25 is disposed side by side with the paper money containing unit 23, and a paper money binding/ carrying unit 24 is disposed on the upper side of the paper money depositing/ with drawing unit 23 and the paper money bundle containing unit 25.
