PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high quality color print free of character blot due to toner scatter by setting a ratio between the diameter of a photoreceptor and the diameter of an image composing transfer part of a cylindrical shape to an integral ratio of smaller than or equal to a specific value. SOLUTION: The diameter of a photoreceptor 2 is smaller than or equal to one-fifth of the diameter of an image composing transfer part 34 of a cylindrical shape, and has an integral ratio relationship with it. For example, the diameters of the photoreceptors 2 and transfer drum 34 are 24 mm and 144 mm, respectively, the diameter of the photoreceptor 2 is one-sixth of the transfer drum 34, and, therefore, they are in an integral ratio relationship of 1:6. In a developing method, toner is opposed to the photoreceptor 2 without touching it and caused to fly in the empty space, thereby developing. However, in order to make it easy for the toner to fly in the empty space, an amount of charged toner is adjusted so as to be smaller than an amount of charged toner for use in the conventional two-component development. When such toner is transferred to a transfer drum 34 from the photoreceptor 2, a phenomena in which the toner flies easily and unclear images are formed occurs. However, the smaller the diameter of the photoreceptor 2 is made, the less toner scatter is made. |
