PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coarse grandrelle-like composite yarn having a soft and smooth surface touch by paralleling a preliminarily interlaced thermoplastic synthetic multi-filament crimped yarn and a substantially non-crimped or non- interlaced thermoplastic synthetic multi-filament yarn having different dyeability as that of the crimped yarn and then subjecting the doubled yarns to a blending and interlacing treatment. SOLUTION: This coarse grandrelle-like composite yarn is obtained by paralleling a thermoplastic synthetic multi-filament crimped yarn, such as a crimped yarn prepared by preliminarily applying an interlacing treatment of 20-80 points/ m to a polyester false-twisted yarn incapable of being dyed with cationic dyes and having a titanium dioxide content of 0.5-2.5 wt.%, and a substantially non- crimped or non-interlaced thermoplastic synthetic multi-filament yarn having different dyeability as that of the crimped yarn, such as a cationic dye-dyeable polyester multi-filament yarn, in a ratio of 30:70 to 80:20, preferably 40:60 to 70:30, and applying a blending and interlacing treatment of 30-100 points/m to the paralleled yarn.
