PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-speed and highly accurate linear motor driver, with a small-sized magnetic mechanism and a less drive current, and further to provide an optical disk device which permits small size, low consumption, and high-speed access, by using this linear motor driver. SOLUTION: This linear motor driver is of such constitution as to switch armature coils 104A-104C, using only the stably magnetizing region of a magnet, in the drive of the multipole linear motor comprising a multipole field magnet 101, a plurality of armature coils 104A-104C for generation of thrust, and magnetic sensors corresponding to the armature coils 104A-104C. |
