FILM WITH CONDUCTIVE THIN FILM AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently increase the electrically isolated state of a film and to use the film for a liquid crystal display to obtain a sharper resolution by providing the film with conductive thin film wirings as many lines each separated by cracks from others and enhancing the electric insulation of the wirings by etching. SOLUTION: The film with a conductive thin film is produced by stretching the film in one direction so as to produce many cracks perpendicular to the stretching direction only in the conductive thin film and to form lines of thin stripe elements each electrically isolated form others in one direction. After the cracks are produced, the conductive thin film is etched to enhance the electric insulation between the wirings of the conductive thin film. The etching process is preferably performed especially by dipping the film in an acidic liquid. The obtd. film has wirings of the conductive thin film having electric insulating property and formed into oblong elements, and it can be used as produced as an electrode which can drive a matrix of a liquid crystal display.
