PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder in which power can be saved by user's own will and which can be utilized with previous settings when a transition is made to power saving mode upon recovery therefrom. SOLUTION: When a power saving key 14 is operated, a power supply 26 is controlled to make a transition to power saving mode. In this regard, settings prior to transition to power saving mode are held in a setting holding section 24. If the power saving key 14 is operated to recover from power saving mode before a specified time elapses after transition is made to power saving mode, operation is returned back to the settings prior to make a transition to power saving mode held in the setting holding section 24 and the recorder can be utilized continuously. When the setting are desired to be reset after resetting from power saving mode, a key other than the power saving key 14, e.g. a reset key 15, is operated. Settings are initialized when a specified time elapses after transition is made to power saving mode by operating the power saving key 14 or when a transition is made to power saving mode with no key operation for a specified time. |
