PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superconducting magnet device which can reduce the number of lead wires passed through a cryostat and required for operating thermal persistent current-driven switches, the number of lead wires for conduction, and the evaporation of a cryogen, by reducing the size of the opening of the cryostat for passing the lead wires for conduction. SOLUTION: A superconducting magnet device is constituted by providing a superconducting main coil, a superconducting shim coil for making uniform the distribution of the magnetic field generated by the main coil, and thermal persistent current driven switches 3 and 4 for the coils in a cryostat. At the same time, a power source 12 for a heater which heats the heater wires 8 and 9 of the switches is provided outside the cryostat. In the magnet device, a change-over switch 7 which switches the heater wires 8 and 9 of the switches 3 and 4 to each other is provided in the cryostat and, at the same time, lead wires 6 for conduction are provided between the switch 7 and power source 12. |
