A liquid dosing device, comprising an open-ended vitreous capillary tube which is connected to a reservoir for liquid, heating means for heating the liquid in the reservoir to a given temperature T1, and a ceramic actuator element which is in intimate contact with a portion of the external surface of the tube. The tube and the element are mutually adhered using a solder having a melting point in excess of T1. The liquid in the reservoir may be molten solder or glue.
