PURPOSE: A method for ejecting a compact disk or a cassette tape of a car audio system is developed to provide a convenience to a user by automatically turning on the car audio system when the user pushes an ejection key. CONSTITUTION: In a method for ejecting a compact disk or a cassette tape of a car audio system, it is first determined if an ejection key signal is input(S22) while scanning key signals(S20). When the ejection key signal is input, it is determined if any of the cassette tape and the compact disk is inserted in decks(S26). When any of the cassette tape and the compact disk is inserted in decks, power of the audio system is automatically turned on(S28). Next, the tape or disk is ejected by driving the deck(S30). After the tape or disk is ejected, the power is turned off again(32).
