PURPOSE: An oil leakage measuring apparatus for underground tank is provided to prevent electric discharge and risk of explosion, while achieving improved durability and allowing the maintenance work to be easily carried out. CONSTITUTION: An oil leakage measuring apparatus comprises a probe(20) which is shaped as a cylinder and installed in a vertical direction within a tank(10); a display unit(22) having a plurality of binary codes marked, in a sequence, along the outer periphery of the probe; a float(30) arranged outside of the probe, in such a manner that the float is movable along the surface of the liquid; and a sensor(31) made up of an optical fiber and mounted to the float, wherein the sensor includes a light emitting section and a light receiving section. The light emitting section emits light when the light is supplied from a light source, and the light receiving section receives the light reflected at the binary codes marked at the display unit. The probe has a plurality of guide grooves(21) formed in a vertical direction along the outer periphery of the probe, and a plurality of bearings arranged at the inner periphery of the float are inserted into the guide grooves.
