PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce deterioration in a recording thin film of an optical disk in respective sectors and at respective marks caused by a repeated recording, to facilitate the configuration of a related signal processing system and to make suppressible deterioration phenomenon from adversely affecting the correct recording/reproducing of information. SOLUTION: In this optical disk 1, a first gap area 271, a first guard data recording area 272, a data recording area 5 constituted of a synchronizing signal and the user data, a second guard data recording area 273 and a second gap area 274 are continuously formed in its sector 3. At this time, the lengths of the first, second gap areas, and the lengths of the first, second guard data recording areas are changed at random for every recording. The variable amounts of the first, second gap areas are made smaller than the variable amounts of the first, second guard data recording areas, and the polarity of the guard data and the polarity of a signal recorded on the data recording area are changed at random at every recording.
