PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the most desirable sewing form when frame-shaped cloth for mending is sewn on filter cloth in order to reinforce the frame part of a filter plate and a place tightened by a packing material of the frame part. SOLUTION: When filter cloth and frame-shaped cloth for mending 30 are superposed one upon another and the necessary parts of them are sewn by a sewing machine, sewing machine stitches 32 are made almost parallel in the direction Y almost right-angled to the length direction of a packing material 20 and formed into a linear or gently wavy form so as to traverse the contact area with the packing material 20 and many sewing machine yarns 31 of the sewing machine stitches 32 are arranged almost parallelly at a small pitch or continuously sewn zigzag.
