PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for converting a telephone number stored by the telephone directory function of a telephone system simultaneously on the date and time when a numbering system is changed. SOLUTION: This telephone number converting device is provided with a storage means 18 for storing telephone numbers or various kinds of information, a communication means 16 for performing call originating operation while using the telephone number stored in the storage means, a clock means 19 for measuring the present time and a control means 12 for controlling the respective means, the communication means acquires information such as the rules and date/time of numbering system change from an information provider, the storage means stores this information and when the date/time measured by the clock means is coincident with or exceeds the date/time of numbering system change, according to the rules of numbering system change, the control means control the reload of telephone numbers stored in the storage means. Thus, the batch conversion of telephone numbers is automatically performed on the date and time when the numbering system is changed.
