PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the inconvenience of causing displacement of centers between both shafts when separately forming the rotary shaft of a waste culm-cutting apparatus into a pair of a terminal shaft and an intermediate shaft, and engaging the both shafts so as to be freely attached and detached through a joint member. SOLUTION: A rotary shaft 5 for cutting is divided to a couple of terminal shafts 9 pivotally supported by right and left side plates 3 and an intermediate shaft 10 carrying cutting disks 4. When the intermediate shaft 10 is engaged to the couple of the terminal shafts 9 so as to be freely attached and detached, joints 15 and 21 are set up to hold the intermediate shaft 10 temporarily to the connecting parts of the terminal shaft 9 sides and the intermediate shaft 10 side by mutually stacking them from the direction of the shafts. Fitting grooves 15b and 21c are formed in the stacking face parts of both the joints 15 and 21 to fit the edge of the intermediate shaft 10 and to center the joints 15 and 21 with the intermediate shaft 10.
