PURPOSE: An operating method for the low velocity of a vehicle is provided to approximately calculate a velocity even though a voltage pulse signal is not transited for a main loop time during the low velocity traveling of the vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A low velocity operator consists of a traveling information detecting unit(10) and an operating unit(20). The operating unit checks if a vehicle travels with signals from an engine rpm(revolutions per minute) detecting unit(11), a gear lever position detecting unit(12) and a brake switch(13). Then, the operator analyzes a voltage pulse signal from a velocity detecting unit(14) to check if the voltage pulse signal is transited for a main loop time. When the voltage pulse signal is not transited, the operator decides that the vehicle travels in a low velocity and detects a pulse width with a transition to operate a present velocity. After that, the present velocity is compared with a prior velocity. When the present velocity is less than the prior velocity, the present velocity is considered as an actual velocity. When the present velocity is more than the prior velocity, the prior velocity is considered as the actual velocity.
