A heavy duty radial tire, wherein reinforcement belts (8) on the radial outer side of a tire and strong belts (13) on the radial inner side of it are provided between a crown part (3) of a radial carcass (2) and a tread rubber (4), an intersection angle between a cord (6a) in an innermost wide cord inclined layer (6) of the reinforcement belts (8) and a cord (12a) in an outermost narrow cord inclined layer (12) of the strong belts (13) is 10 DEG or more on an acute angle side, the tire is assembled on a rim and inflated to the maximum pressure, the width of the narrow cord inclined layers (11, 12) of the strong belts (13) is 20 to 60 % of the tread width, of a tread rubber (4), the inclined angles of the cords (11a, 12a) relative to a tire equatorial plane (5) are 15 DEG or less, respectively, and a rubber thickness (t1) of a first rubber layer (14) between the cord (6a) in the innermost wide cord inclined layer (6) and the cord (12a) in the outermost narrow cord inclined layer (12) is 0.9 to 3.0 times the cord diameter (D) of the narrow cord inclined layers (11, 12). |
