PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine in which a detergent is not left undissolved and objects to be washed can be washed well. SOLUTION: The rotation shaft 57 of an electric motor 56, piercing through a partition wall 58, extends into an impeller room 51, and a detergent dissolving device 60 to dissolve a detergent in the bathwater is attached to the part of the rotation shaft 57 protruding to the impeller room 51. Meandering water passages 73 and 74 through which a detergent and the bathwater can flow are formed inside the detergent dissolving device 60. Plural rib-shaped blades 59 are formed radially in the radius direction of a circular plate 64 on the surface 64b of the circular plate 64 opposite to the partition wall 58. When the electric motor 56 is driven, a detergent and water flow into the impeller room 51 by the blades 59, then into the meandering passage 74. Thus, the detergent is dissolved in water while flowing through the meandering passage 74 and 73.
