PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it easy to manufacture a magnetic tunnel junction magneto- resistive head by making a conventional manufacturing method applicable thereto. SOLUTION: A 1st tunnel junction 18 is formed of a magnetic free layer 10, and a 1st magnetic fixed layer 12, and a thin insulating layer 11 formed between both layers, and a 2nd tunnel junction 19 is composed of a magnetic free layer 10, a 2nd magnetic fixed layer 13, and the insulating layer 11. The 1st tunnel junction 18 and the 2nd tunnel junction 19 are at both ends of the magnetic free layer 10, and are connected through the magnetic free layer 10. The detection current flowing from a 1st electrode 16 connected with the 1st tunnel junction 18 flows to a 2nd electrode 17 through the 1st tunnel junction 18, the magnetic free layer 10, and the 2nd tunnel junction 19.
