PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device which can perform recording in a CD-R/RW with a low output power laser beam and can obtain reflected light having light quantity required for detecting a tracking error and a focusing error at the time of recording. SOLUTION: This device has a first laser diode 21 emitting a first laser beam L1 for CD-R/RW recording having a wavelength of 650 nm, and a second laser diode 22 emitting a second laser beam L2 for CD-R/RW recording having a wavelength of 780 nm. When recording is performed in a CD-R/RW5, the first laser diode 21 and the second laser diode 22 are simultaneously lightened. Recording is efficiently performed in the CD-R/RW5 by the first laser beam L1 of low output, and reflected light of light quantity required for performing focusing error compensation and tracking error compensation is obtained from the CD-R/RW5 by the second laser beam L2 of low output. |
