<p>An unreduced dielectric ceramic material which is effective in avoiding the prolongation of a grinding step for exposing edges of nickel-containing internal electrodes in producing a layer-built ceramic capacitor having the electrodes, and which is obtained by adding MgO or a rare earth oxide to a calcine comprising as the main component a composite oxide represented by formula (I) [(CaXSr1-X)O]m[(TiYZr1-Y)O2] (wherein 0 ≤ X ≤ 1, 0 ≤ Y ≤ 0.10, and 0.75 ≤ m ≤ 1.04), in an amount of 0.001 to 10 mol.% based on the main component and then burning the calcine. The ceramic material contains SiO2, BaO and/or CaO, and MnO as minor ingredients in given amounts.</p> |
