PURPOSE: A database access system and the method are provided to use a user mode in read and a super mode in update. CONSTITUTION: The database access system comprises: a user mode data base(23) only for reading; a super mode mirrored data base(26) for read and record; a database handler(22) that reads the data from the data base(23) and proceeds system call with a confirmation of database update during database access request, and transmits the database access result; an application program(21) that transmits the database access request to the database handler(22) and receives the data of the data base(23) or the mirrored data base(26) and the database access result; a mirrored database handler(25) that reads the data of the mirrored data base(26) and transmits the database access result; an operating system(25) that forms MMU table, controls to get identical address value in the super mode and the user mode, calls the mirrored database handler(25) and transmits the database access result to the database handler(22) through the mirrored database handler(25).
