PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a truing device capable of accurately forming the cross-section of a super-abrasive grinding wheel while the rate of wear of a truer is reduced in truing of the super-abrasive grinding wheel. SOLUTION: An electric motor 3 is fixed to a work-shaft 7 of a precision grinding machine, and has a rotary shaft 8 parallel to the work shaft 7. A truing rotary grinding wheel 2 is mounted on the rotary shaft 8, and a super- abrasive grinding wheel 1 or an object of forming is mounted on the tip of a spindle 13. The center axis of the spindle 13 intersects the direction of the work shaft 7 at right angles. The spindle 13 can be moved by NC control two- dimensionally in a plane perpendicular to the work shaft 7. The super-abrasive grinding wheel 1 and the truing rotary grinding wheel 2 are rotated to be in contact with each other. In this state, the spindle 13 is moved two-dimensionally so that an envelope of a locus followed by a target cross-sectional shape of the outer periphery of the super-abrasive grinding wheel 1 conforms to the outer periphery of the truing rotary grinding wheel 2.
