摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Mg alloy negative electrode active material used for a Ni-hydrogen alkaline secondary battery with large capacity and a long cycle life, while controlling the progress of pulverization. SOLUTION: A hydrogen storage alloy electrode is used as a negative electrode for an alkaline secondary battery, which has a negative electrode formed mainly of Mg hydrogen storage alloy, a positive electrode formed mainly of metal oxide, an alkaline electrolyte and a separator. Negative electrode active material for the negative electrode is formed of an amorphous alloy mainly containing Ni, Mg, Zn and Zr and capable of electrochemically storing or releasing hydrogen.
