PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a communication system in which a user terminal uses two gateway satellites. SOLUTION: This system consists of (a) a step establishing call connection between a global telecommunication network and a user terminal through a first gateway 1 and at least one satellite and (b) a step connecting the user terminal with the global telecommunication network through a second gateway 2 and at least one additional satellite while the call connection is established. The connecting step includes a step carrying information of a calling speech or data crossing over a inter-gateway communication link between first gateway 1 and the second gateway 2. By linking the multiplexed gateways like these, calling in progress can be continued even after the user terminal is moved from the coverage area of the first gateway 1 to the coverage area of the second gateway 2, thereby, the increase in its effective coverage area is enjoyed. |
