A device attached to a masted lift truck for loading bitumen blocks on to a pallet on the lift fork comprises a grab 12 secured to a column 11 which is slidable in a sleeve 10 on a cantilever arm 8. The arm is secured to a column 4 which is connected by struts (3), Fig. 2 (not shown), to a post 2 mounted adjacent one side of the mast assembly (not shown) for rotation about a vertical axis. Hydraulic rams 6, 13, 21 are provided for rotating the column 4, for raising and lowering the grab 12 and column 11 relative to the sleeve 10, and for actuating the grab, respectively. The grab 12 consists of a rectangular framework 19 connected by rods 20 to a central ram 21. Double arm levers 22 (23) carrying grab jaws 24 (25) are mounted on each side of the frame and are connected by rods 26 (27) to the ram piston rod 29. |
