PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a serial bus device provided with a means for recovering from the malfunction of power failure detection signals at the connection and disconnection of an external power source and sending out information to a host system again. SOLUTION: This device is constituted of a high-order port part 2 connected to the host system 1, a communication part 3 for receiving power supply from the host system 1 through the high-order port part 2 and processing a communication protocol with the host system 1, a low-order port part 4 for connecting corresponding equipment 8, an external power source part 5 for generating power to the low-order port part 4, a power supply part 7 for supplying the power to the low-order port part 4, detection parts 9 and 10 for detecting the power failure of power supply line short circuit or the like at the low-order port part 4 and a control part 11 for performing re-initialization in the power supply and the disconnection from the external power source part 5.
