Handling device for slender pulp, paper or cardboard coils, for moving the coils over the gap between two chain conveyors 2 from the first conveyor to the second. The device comprises at least one movable displacer 7, displaceable in parallel with the direction of movement of the conveyor and provided at the conveyor gap, for transverse displacement of the coil relative to the conveyors 2 and with an abutment 5 provided at the opposite side of the conveyor relative to the displacer 7, said abutment being adapted to steady the coil 19 which is moved together with the displacer 7 on top of the conveyor, and permits displacement of the coil 1 in the direction of movement of the conveyor. <IMAGE>
