The apparatus (1) for drying cylindrical bales (3) of moist forage has an assembly (2) of horizontally extending balanced isobaric ventilation chambers (2a-c) lying over one another. Each chamber has either top, bottom or both faces fitted with blowing apertures (4) and must be capable of bearing the weight of bales sitting on the chambers. A blower/heater unit (5) supplies hot air through the chambers to the apertures. Hydraulic cylinders (6) can open up and telescope the chambers in a vertical direction to simplify loading and then hold the bales during drying to ensure even air flows. |
