Frames of the injection molding machine and handling unit, are coupled to move relatively, along a first axis x. An Independent claim is also included for the method of injection molding using this equipment. Preferred features: The axis (x) is parallel to mold die motion. The frames (24, 58) are coupled rigidly with respect to movement along the z axis, transversely to the x axis. The handling unit (14) includes a grip (52) moving parallel to the z axis. The frames have couplings (36, 38, 40, 42) uniting them detachably and/or permitting their relative adjustment, which can be measured. The unit (46) controls advance and retraction of the grip, and is supplied with data signaling relative positions of the frames. The couplings (34, 66) include friction reduction, preferably slides and especially linear roller bearings. The first frame (24) can move about 0.5-10 mm, preferably about 1-5 mm with respect to the second (58).
