PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a film having excellent heat resistance and transparency by forming the film out of a biaxially oriented film containing a polyethylene-2,6-naphthalanedicarboxylate as a main component. SOLUTION: A manganese acetate tetrahydrate salt is used with 2,6- naphthalenedimethyl carboxylate and ethylene glycol as transesterification catalysts, silica particles are added as a lubricant, and transesterified. Thereafter, a trimethylphosphate is added, and the transesterification is substantially finished. Then, an antimony trioxide is added, and polymerization reacted to form a polyethylene-2,6-naphthalanedicarboxylate(PEN). The silica particle- containing PEN is melt extruded via a die slit, and then cooled to be solidified on a casting drum to form an unoriented film. This film is biaxially oriented, and heat-set to manufacture a biaxially oriented film. |
